Visual Effects Producer
She is currently Wētā’s Visual Effects Producer on James Cameron’s highly awaited Avatar sequels.
Lena joined Wētā FX in 2017 with over a decade’s experience in visual effects production. Her first roles at Wētā were producing Warner Bros.’ Justice League (2017) and Wonder Woman (2017).
Lead Visual Effects Producer on the Avatar sequels, Lena is in charge of scoping the visual effects work across this complex, long-term project with the filmmakers and Wētā FX’s Supervisors. She is critically responsible for budgeting, scheduling, and high-level management of the production process.
Prior to joining Wētā FX, Lena was Head of Production and Executive Producer at MPC Montreal. Having worked as a VFX Producer at MPC London, she relocated to Montreal at the end of 2012 to build the new facility from the ground up. The facility’s first film, X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), received an Oscar nomination for Best Achievement in Visual Effects. Other highlights include X-Men: Apocalypse (2016), The Revenant (2015), The Martian (2015) and Fantastic Four (2015).
Lena brings to her work as VFX Producer a thorough understanding of production processes across the visual effects pipeline: Assets, Lighting, Environments, Digital Matte Painting, and Rendering. She is working with the Executive and Central Production team at Wētā FX to standardize production processes across the company.
